COURSE GOAL:
 
     To prepare students for a course in Pre-Calculus by integrating, applying, and connecting algebraic concepts throughout the year.
 
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
 
     This course will relate and apply algebraic concepts to geometry, statistics, data analysis, probability, and discrete mathematics. It will explore real-life problem settings throughout the year. It will also connect the algebraic content to other courses such as: biology, geography, physics, chemistry, health, and literature.
 
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

     Scientific calculator (with trigonometry functions)
 
EVALUATION PROCEDURES:
 
     There will be a minimum of four grades per week. These may consist of homework, classwork, quizzes, and tests. Classwork will consist of group work, work with partners, and individual work.

                                      All work assigned for outside of class will be due at the beginning
                                      of the following class period. Student first and last name, block
                                      number, date, and assignment should be clearly written on the
                                      upper right corner of the work. In case of an absence, work is
                                      to be made up within three school days upon return. It is the
                                      student's responsibility to find out what to do to make up
                                      missed work and tests.
CLASSROOM RULES:
 
RESPECT YOURSELF:    Have your own paper, pencils, and folder each day.
                                               Bring your own text to class each day.
                                               Be prepared to do your part.
                                               Sit up and stay awake in class.
                                               BE ON TIME!!!
 
RESPECT OTHERS:         Treat the teacher, substitute, guests, and other students in the
                                              Way you want to be treated. Give attention to teacher and
                                              Others.
                                              Remember, you do not have to like everyone to get along
                                              With them.
                                              Behave and speak appropriately at all times.
 
RESPECT EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES:
                                              Drinks and food are not allowed.
                                              Do not write or carve in books, desks, equipment, and chairs.
 
Students will follow the classroom rules as well as the school rules. Warnings will be followed by demerits.
